Laura is an Assistive Technology Specialist Speech and Language Therapist within the team. Laura’s role is to work with individuals using our service to assess and provide appropriate electronic assistive technology.

Laura graduated from Newcastle University in 2015 with a BSc in Speech and Language Sciences. Prior to working for Barnsley Assistive Technology, Laura has worked in local paediatric services for almost 10 years, including mainstream and special school settings.

Laura says:

Setting up AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) for someone and seeing them use it is so special. Those first steps open so many doors to a world of saying so much more. It’s a really exciting but individual journey and a pleasure to be part of.
