Jamie is an honorary service user representative on the Barnsley Assistive Technology Team. Within the team Jamie’s role is to help represent the views of those who use our services, including when evaluating hardware, software and vocabularies; during interviews; and when delivering training to local services.
Jamie says:
“I got to the age of 36 before my communication device. I couldn’t write my second name before that. A few years of hard work with my reading and writing and I was ready to give back to Barnsley Assistive technology team to help people in the same boat as me.
It is fantastic to be a part of the team who make a different to people lives”
